11/08/2009 ~ Reminder – Deadline to establish new Single Payment Scheme entitlements
RPA is reminding farmers and growers that the closing date for it to receive applications for new entitlements is midnight 13 August.
RPA will accept late applications up to midnight on 7 September 2009, but any resulting new entitlements will be subject to late claim penalties for 2010. Applications or supporting documents received after 7 September will be rejected.
Farmers and growers should send applications to the usual postal address, but RPA will accept completed applications delivered by hand to the following RPA offices: Carlisle, Exeter, Newcastle, Northallerton, Reading and Workington*.
Some blank SP20 application forms and continuation sheets are available to collect from these offices, but farmers need to make sure they obtain the necessary form(s) in time to make a valid application.
You can find more information at www.rpa.gov.uk/new-entitlements
* Any farmer or agent delivering a completed form to an RPA office during standard office hours (8.30am – 5.00pm) will be given a hand written receipt, but RPA staff will not check the form. This receipt date will be the official receipt date unless the form is subsequently found to be invalid. RPA will send a further receipt once the form is received and checked in our central office.
