Farmer Guidance

Defra and RPA have produced new guidance on cross compliance for 2012 covering areas such as the Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs), Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC), responsibility for the actions of others, landowners and graziers, etc. The Guide to Cross Compliance in England is also available as an e-version through our website (see table below and the link on the left) along with printer-friendly sections of the publication and the e-Appendices referred to in the Guide’s footnotes. Additionally, the link on the right will take you to the Defra cross compliance website that provides, amongst other material, background information on cross compliance.
The handbooks do not take the place of the law and the precise rules are set out in the legislation.
