Intervention Cereals


Cereal crop


The purpose of the Intervention Cereals scheme is to:

  • purchase barley from offerers during the buying-season (currently 1 November to 31 May);
  • store the cereals on behalf of the Community; and
  • sell intervention cereals stocks when the Commission agrees to release them onto the market ensuring all appropriate end-use requirements are met.
