Private Storage Aid Schemes

Following the introduction of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 826/2008 the rules for Private Storage Aid were harmonised. Private Storage Aid may be granted for the following products:

  • Butter (Unsalted or Salted)
  • White Sugar
  • Olive Oil
  • Beef
  • Pigmeat
  • Sheepmeat or Goatmeat

Based on the market situation the Commission will decide whether or not it is appropriate to open a Private Storage Aid scheme. Schemes can be opened using either fixed aid in advance or a tendering procedure.

Once a decision has been made by the Commission a regulation will be published announcing the opening of the scheme, this will also detail rates of aid and application procedures.
