03/03/10 ~ Single Payment Scheme advice regarding flooded land
As SPS application time approaches again, RPA is urging all farmers affected by the flooding this winter to make sure they don’t lose out on payments for the 2010 Scheme.
It’s vital that anyone whose land has been affected by adverse weather in the last 12 months makes sure this is reflected on their 2010 SPS application form, especially if there are any areas of their farm that are no longer eligible under the SPS rules.
Boundary changes are another key area to watch out for and farmers also need to ensure any permanent boundary changes (for example, rivers changing course due to recent flooding) are accurately recorded by completing and returning an RLE1 form.
Anyone with queries about their land’s eligibility for SPS is asked to contact RPA’s Customer Service Centre on 0845 603 7777 or for cross compliance queries, call the Cross Compliance Advice Helpline on 0845 345 1302.
The rules covering SPS eligiblity for the 2010 scheme year can be found in this year’s guidance which will be published on RPA’s website next week and included with the SPS application form.
The RLE1 form and associated guidance can only be obtained from the RPA’s Customer Service Centre, so farmers are advised to ensure any amendments are correctly recorded and presented to the RPA in good time for SPS 2010.
