The 2007 Entitlements calculator
The publication of these 2007 Entitlements Calculators are intended to assist the calculation of an approximate value for entitlements. They are for guidance only and will not provide a definitive value for those entitlements. Two calculators are provided:
- A spreadsheet calculator
- A paper calculator for simple calculations (This can also be requested from the RPA call Centre on 0845 603 7777)
To use the spreadsheet calculator you will need:
- a 2006 Entitlements Statement;
- a Sugar Tonnage Letter (if applicable); and
- Details of any 2006 entitlements transfer (if applicable).
This calculator reflects RPA’s interpretation of the current SPS legislation as at December 2007. RPA reserves the right to review and amend the calculator if circumstances (including EC issuing new guidance) change.
Please note that this calculator only applies to 2007 calculations. This calculator will not be valid for earlier years. Separate calculators are available for 2005 and 2006 scheme years.
To access the calculator please use the attached Excel spreadsheet. This spreadsheet, once downloaded, will enable users to calculate approximate 2007 Entitlements values. The spreadsheet is only available as an Excel document, please note calculations are in Euros.
Some farmers who had the historic reference element of their entitlements made up from payments under the Extensification Payment Scheme (EPS), received a slight overpayment in 2005 and 2006 because a scaleback of 4% on livestock numbers was incorrectly applied. The correct 5.92% scaleback has now been applied to the reference amount. The values have been corrected on the 2007 Entitlements Statements for those farmers affected and no action is being taken by RPA to recover the small sums involved.
From SPS 2007 onwards, sugar funding is included in the entitlement value shown on the statement and, where activated, will be included within the SPS payment. (Last year the additions to the entitlement values for sugar reference amounts were calculated using a claimant’s contracted sugar tonnage and paid separately.)

- a 2006 Entitlements Statement;
- a pocket calculator
