30/04/10 ~ Cross Compliance updates to Statutory Management Requirements (SMRs) 2, 5 and 12

RPA has updated its cross compliance literature in light of changes to the domestic legislation which underpins cross compliance. The following regulations have been issued in April 2010:

Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/490)
Environmental Permitting (England & Wales) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/675)
The Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (England) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/801)

Therefore, the SMR 2 (Groundwater), SMR 5 (Habitats) and SMR 12 (Prevention and control of transmissible spongiform encephalopathies – TSEs) guidance pages in The Guide to Cross Compliance in England have been amended accordingly.

The e-appendices for SMR 2, SMR 5 and list of Statutory Management Requirements have also been amended.

The e-version of The Guide to Cross Compliance in England contains the most up to date information inclusive of these amendments to SMRs 2, 5 and 12. This document can be accessed by following the cross compliance link, Farmer Guidance > Guide to Cross Compliance in England on RPA’s website www.rpa.gov.uk.

RPA will send a hard copy of this guidance to all farmers in England later this year along with other pages that will reflect the changes to a number of cross compliance standards and requirements in 2011.  In the meantime, hard copies are available from our Customer Service Centre on 0845 603 7777
