The aim of this scheme is to reduce surpluses on the open market (and occasional end use disposal of Intervention SMP) by aiding the use of Skimmed Milk Powder in the Animal Feed Industry.
Aid payments are made to processors utilising open market or ex intervention Skimmed Milk powder to make animal feed. There are frequent Inspections of the plant during processing operations and sampling of the SMP and finished product.
