Allocation of New SPS entitlements for 2010
The rules of the Single Payment Scheme (SPS) changed in 2009 which meant additional land could be used to claim payment against existing SPS entitlements in 2009.
The areas which were newly eligible included:
- land under permanent fruit and vegetables (including commercial orchards),
- nursery crops and
- vines
In addition farmers who had land used to grow these crops in 2008 may have been eligible to apply for new SPS payment entitlements. These new entitlements could then be used to claim payment for the first time in the 2010 scheme year.
The application period for applying for new entitlements closed on 13 August 2009, and a late application period followed up until 7 September 2009. On the left you will find links to the SP20 form and guidance, as well as copies of the Information Notes and FAQ's issued on new entitlements.
