SPS National Reserve – potential impact of non-usage of English Reserve entitlements.

Farmers who successfully applied for an allocation from the National Reserve have been sent a letter to explain the potential impact of a recent change in EU legislation.

Whilst the letter has been sent to all successful National Reserve applicants, the legislative changes will only affect those farmers who have National Reserve (Eng Res) entitlements. Farmers affected are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the impact of the changes for their National Reserve (Eng Res) entitlements.

Some farmers may wish to transfer former English Reserve entitlements and should note that the closing date for submitting RLE1 application forms for 2007 scheme year is 2 April 2007.

Farmers who only have Normal entitlements will remain unaffected by the changes.

In addition to the information supplied in the letter, further details of the changes can be found within the National Reserve Frequently Asked Questions section of the RPA website. (Click here to view).

A sample copy of the letter sent to successful NR applicants see pdf attached. National Reserve letter 9 Feb 07.pdf
