Dual claims between SPS and other schemes FAQ
1. Can one farmer claim a parcel under SPS and another farmer claim it under an agri-environment scheme?
Yes, both parties can claim on the same parcel provided they each meet all the rules for the scheme to which they are applying.
2. What about agri-environment strips?
If the strips are on land eligible for SPS they can be included in the SPS claim. If this land also meets the SPS description of arable land it should be included in the set-aside calculation and can be set aside. Guidance on land which is not arable is given in paragraph 25 of the Set-aside Handbook 2006.
