1. When will decoupling of nuts and protein support happen?
Decoupling will take place in 2012. You will still be able to apply for the existing Area Payment for Nuts and Protein Crop Premium in 2010 and 2011.
2. What will happen to my payments in 2012?
The Area Payment for Nuts and Protein Crop Premium will no longer exist. Instead, the funds will be added to the flat rate value of all SPS entitlements. In 2012 all entitlements within a region will have a single flat rate value.
The decisions announced today are subject to the detailed EU scheme regulations and any further clarifications which the European Commission may provide.
